A Love For Food…

Hello!

My name is Chef Nina and I am a foodie!

As a native SF Bay Area kid, I had the privilege of spending summers on a beautiful 4-acre apple orchard that my grandpa owned, where he grew all his food, located in the quaint town (now a city) of Sebastopol, CA. The familiar scent of tomatoes in a sunny greenhouse always reminds me of his abundant tomato rows of different colors and sizes. He also grew cucumbers, turnips, and the best golden delicious apples, and I was his best farm girl.

Throughout my adulthood and career, I've delved into diverse roles surrounding food: groceries logistics, produce buyer, admin assistant, and chef educator, fueling my passion to inspire others with my culinary journey.

During the school year, I teach students at East Palo Alto Aspire Charter School in the after-school program. It is important for me to continue to spread the word about nutritious food to the youth of the community and offer support and encouragement for budding chefs. It is my hope that these classes help young people make healthy lifestyle choices for themselves in the future.
